About SEC Ghana

The SEC Ghana is a statutory body established by the Securities Industry Act, 2016 (Act 929). It regulates and promotes the growth and development of an efficient, fair and transparent securities market in which investors and the integrity of the market are protected.

The Securities and Exchange Commission Ghana was established in 1993 under the Securities Industry Law, 1993 (PNDCL 333). The law has since been replaced by the Securities Industry Act, 2016 (Act 929).

Investor Protection

You can verify the licence status of any capital market operator using the Regulatory Compliance Portal (RCP Online) on this website. Search for the company by name or registration number.

Immediately stop transactions with the suspected entity, file a complaint with SEC Ghana through our website or by calling 0800 100 065 (toll-free), or email info@sec.gov.gh. The SEC will investigate all complaints.

AML/CFT

AML stands for Anti-Money Laundering, and CFT stands for Counter Financing of Terrorism. These are measures to prevent the use of the financial system for money laundering, terrorist financing, and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. SEC Ghana requires all capital market operators to comply with applicable AML/CFT laws and guidelines.
